Review: well the plot sums it up really, apart from this is definitely a teen girl flick bit like twilight but more interesting and my daughter says the books are awesome. Who am I to argue? This is well acted film with plenty of star names, excellent graphics and scenery as well as a good plot, until it starts to get soppy towards the end, what did I expect? Well just what I got a well acted good film, would I watch it again? Probably not as it’s not really my kind of film but if you have the choice of this or centipede, I’d watch this.

6/10 not for me, good Sunday afternoon, raining outside kind of film.

Film: Our Idiot Brother

Year: 2011

Cast: Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Sullivan, Zooey Deschanel, Francesca Papalia, Emily Mortimer, Bob Stephenson, Peter Hermann, Adam Scott, Kelly Briter, Rashida Jones, Steve Coogan, Kathryn Hahn, T.J. Miller, Shirley Knight.

Plot: Ned [Paul Rudd] lived a happy life growing organic vegetables on a farm with his hippie girlfriend and his dog named Willie Nelson, but an unadvised incident with marijuana at a farmer’s market lands him in jail. When he gets out of jail, he is off to live with his sisters. While Ned is still happy, his sisters are much less so after he manages to screw up one marriage, one job opportunity, one budding relationship and one domestic partnership. He sees those problems as breakdowns in communication, but his sisters see him as an idiot

Review: This is a real feel good film, the irony is in the title as it’s not Ned who is the idiot but the people around him. In places it feels like a bit of a chick flick, but then its not it’s just a rambling feel good movie that is hilarious. I knew nothing about this film at all so didn’t know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised, Ned [Rudd] seems to bumble through his life making one mistake after another but its only when you get halfway through the film that you realise its everyone else that’s messing up and he’s just saying it as it is.

This film had me laughing from the off, however there is one very disturbing part and I think it may scarred me for life………

It was seeing Steve Coogan’s Testicles dangling between his legs when he bends over!!!!!! Watch it and? Well just watch it and you’ll see

9/10 real good, feel good film
